The envelope peals open to allow sunlight and to create in-between space for the unit for six. It can be used for gardening or patio space by the residents
Back door
The back door carries the same rhythm as the main entrance. It opens up like a cliff towards the park bringing in the park inside the building.
Main entrance looking into the atrium and the park beyond
The main entrance splits open like a mountain cliff. The house for six is located on the ground floor to allow easy access for the elders.
The in-between spaces between the interior and exterior can be used by the residents.
Atrium at the main entrance
The building’s envelope creates in-between spaces at those special moments. The in-between spaces are shared. They create a sense of community.
Atrium from the third floor
The perforated envelop helps to allow sunlight into the building as well as protect against harsh weather in the winter
Bird’s eye view of the walkable rooftop
The perforated rooftop is filled with metal (corten or copper) creates a community space where residents can enjoy an unobstructed view over the park.
